SignaMax Media Converters CONNECTIVITY SYSTEMS

Media Converters from Signamax are an easy and cost-effective way to establish a fiber optic cabling
infrastructure within your existing network. Signamax provides a wide array of converters to support your
Ethernet, Fast Ethernet, and Gigabit Ethernet requirements. For media conversion that can work within
an existing Network Control Center, Signamax has rack mountable and chassis-based converter systems
to support clustered installations, and stand-alone managed converters to handle dispatch to outlying
locations and Fiber to the Home (FTTH) environments. Our series of unmanaged converters provides
simplicity with Link Fault Signaling, to allow managed switches to reroute when a path fails, and the
ability to force speed and/or duplex modes to work where less flexible converters cannot. If small size is
a key requirement, our 10/100 to 100FX mini media converters provide high quality and small size at a
fair price.

100FX Singlemode to Multimode Media Converters

The Signamax 100FX Singlemode to Multimode Media Converters provide efficient solutions for
interconnecting multimode fiber LANs over longer distances by integrating singlemode fiber optic
cable into the LAN. By providing a multimode interface to singlemode fiber carrier demarcation
points, these media converters enable Ethernet LAN and WAN connectivity.
Each Media Converter is enclosed in a compact, strong metal case and includes an external
power supply for stand-alone applications. They can also be installed without modification into the
Signamax Rack Mount Chassis system, featuring redundant power supplies for high reliability in
multiple converter installations.

Signamax Connectivity Systems’ Gigabit Ethernet Media Converters make it simple to extend distances
over multimode or singlemode fiber. They are designed to expand the scope of your Gigabit Ethernet
network applications and are 100% compliant with Ethernet IEEE 802.3ab and 802.3z specifications.
These converters maintain the same form factor as other Signamax media converters, allowing use in the
065-1185 16-Bay Signamax Rack Mount Chassis. Twisted pair to fiber optic converters for both multimode
and singlemode fiber, multimode to singlemode converters, and singlemode to singlemode extenders are
available. In addition, the 065-1195SFP model utilizes Small Form-factor Pluggable (SFP) modules for the
1000Base fiber connection, for maximum flexibility of use in changing network architectures.
